this time i drew fanart of the unit WITH from pripara for a friend.
it’s a style imitation of the artist 祐壱. actually, i didn’t know their name, so i just searched for highxjoker on pixiv, hoping to stumble upon their work, and it turns out they were set as the icon for the tag. well yes!
i really admire their use of color, lighting, and effects, so that’s what i focused on the most. i also wanted to try a colored piece with proper lineart for once.
the other major point i focused on was the face and the eyes. i tend to overlook faces in favor of the overall atmosphere of the image, so this time i really tried to draw an expressive, attractive face. i also usually do blanker, more direct eyes rather than eyes full of colors and highlights, so this was a fun change of pace.
i feel really motivated to do a fun DGS christmas piece now, so i’ll work on that tonight. i really gotta get the DGS dogboy zine papercraft done already though, haha.
