dojinshi plans

somehow i released a new dojinshi for each year i was in uni, but i'm finally taking a break now. mainly because i didn't get into the lottery for the local convention this year, but even then it wouldn't've sold well and i shouldn't rush a dojinshi for an event anyway. last year, i printed the benbaro dojinshi two hours into the event (my uni was a 15 minute walk away from the venue) and it only sold two copies LOL. it did better than i expected online, though.

i don't think i'll ever get passionate enough about a piece of media to release a full, proper dojinshi again TBH. of the four i've done in the past few years, only one had actual effort put into it and the rest were all kusocopybon where i spent an hour or two max drawing the pages. even my copybon were hardly worth the minimal time and effort i put into them. since it's just a hobby i don't care about making a lot of money back, but i'd still rather spend my energy elsewhere.

if i did make a new dojinshi though, i'd want to do a marvel comic! my main ideas are:

1. SF love hotel: eddie brock/venom from venom movie. i loveee this pairing, so i'd really like to do a 16P comic about them going to a love hotel together lol. nothing actually R18, just a little suggestive and funny. SF stands for both san francisco and sci-fi.
2. spider-verse collection: just a bunch of standalone into the spider-verse stories. i think this one would do the best sales-wise, but i want to do a full-length story instead of a collection again, so i'm trying to think of something more specific.
3. when i see you again: bucky barnes/sam wilson from the MCU. it's a story about their feelings towards steve together, and how it affects their relationship. but i can't write serious things and i can't remember enough about the MCU to be able to make this.
